Mr. .hong, the owner of a small factory in Shanghai, wants to hire a young man to work as a "technical consultant" at his factory. He tells the young man that he cannot help him cheat by studying abroad, because he is just like his father. The young man, who has no idea how to eat or drink, tries to convince his father that studying abroad is just fun and a game, but his father refuses to believe him. He offers to pay the man a monthly allowance if he agrees to work for him at the factory whenever he is free. He also offers to buy him some machinery so that he can open his own factory. The man, however, is not interested in making a living, and he refuses to help his father in any way.
