In this chapter, Duan tries to convince his father that he is not a child anymore and that he should be more mature in front of his father. Duan asks his father if he can treat Duan like an opponent and slowly learn to be his own person. Duane says that he will have his assistant pick him up in a few moments. He then apologizes to his father and tells him that they have enough stock at the factory to take care of their business. He tells Duan that he has not even sold fifty bolts of stock in the last few days. He says that the bank has to repay the money the next day. He admits that he was too naive to think that he could sell enough machines to buy back the factory. He now realizes that he cannot do anything right. He also says that if things do not work out, he will give the goods to the bank to redeem the factory and then he will find a factory.
