The next morning, Hirokazu arrives at the inn. He's been there for a while, but he doesn't seem to be having a good time. He complains about how hot it is, and how the sea water seems to be making him feel hotter. He also complains about the fact that he's having sex with a woman who's not his wife, and that she's wearing pants that are too big for him. He tells her that he has to do something about it with fumiaki, and he asks her to tell him what happened. She tells him that they're in a ship, which means that they have a lot in common. She also says that she is the one who has been causing all of this trouble, and she wants to explain it to him.
