In this short scene, we learn that Hirohito's mother has sent him a message to wish him a happy birthday. He is overjoyed to receive it, and he kisses his French friend goodbye. He tells Hiromi that he will be escorting him around the city, and that he is counting the number of kisses he will receive on his friend's birthday. Hiromi wonders if he has changed in the years since he first met him. He says that he used to think of himself as the one who loved him the most, but now he realizes that there is no such thing as love.
