In this short scene, we learn that the Governess is a bit nervous about meeting her new boss, but she's fine with it. The Governess tells us that when she first arrived in France, she was a little nervous, but now she feels a bit better about herself. She's so happy to be back in the States that she can't wait to get home and spend some time with her husband. She tells him that she'd like to stay with him, too, if he'll let her stay in his house. She asks him if he remembers something embarrassing that happened at work today, and he says that he remembers it. She blushes and says that she doesn't remember anything embarrassing, but that it just slipped out of her grasp. She begs him to come back to her house and spend the night with her, but he refuses, saying that he's leaving for France in a month's time. He promises to come visit her whenever she needs him.
