In this chapter, we learn that Ming-Zhe and Cai-Ting have been secretly working on a plan to destroy Ming-Guang. Ming asks if he can explain what's been going on, and he says that he'll pass this information on to the news media. He also says that if the negotiations don't work out today, he's going to pass on this information to the whole world. He's worried that if he doesn't let her out of the room for two laps, this rumor will be self defeating. He wants to see her fall apart, and says that's what he'd really like to see happen. He says that it's not like he can hold back and scold him so much, but he can't because he is too keen on her. He asks why he gave up on her, and she says that she's very fond of him. She says that under the family's suggestion, he began to work on her as a young girl. She's really important to him, she says, and so he wants to match her up with him. He tells her that he accepted her love, and then abandoned her.
