In this short scene, Ren tells us that he's only distracting Ming-liang from danger, and that Ming's been injured by the monster. He's worried about what he'll do if he doesn't get help. He tells Ren to tell him before he dies, because he can't just run away. He also tells Ren that if he isn't the one who's looking for him, then Ren's going to be at a huge loss. Ren tells him that the other climbers on the mountain won't help him, because they don't know how to help someone like him. Ren says that he is a student and a killer, and he'd rather die than let anyone see him . Ren thinks he underestimated him, but then he remembers that he wanted to have some fun with the other guys, but now that it's too late, he wants to go to hell. He sees a cliff behind him, and Ren screams, "you bastard !" . He realizes that Ming is dead, and tries to kill him. Finally, he manages to save him, saying, "Don't worry, I'll take good care of everything" . It's clear that he owes Ren a favor. Ren asks why Ming didn't come back, and why there are so many police on the scene. He wants to know what happened, and what to do. He hears that someone has fallen down the mountain. When he was climbing, he saw someone fall from the mountain, and at first, only two people reached the summit.
