About This Chapter
The monster tells the girl that he wants both of her legs, but that he's still in front of her with his whole body. He says that he still doesn't know who the girl is, but what he said last time counts. The girl says that she's not intimidated by the monster, and that she likes the guy. The monster says that the guy can't beat him, but he'll be able to keep his legs safe. He also says that if the girl drinks with the guy, it's because they're friends, not because they are enemies. He adds that the monster is paranoid, and the guy drinks with someone who's more paranoid than he is. He's a liar, the girl says, and she expects the girl to be there. She says that her family has already seen the monster before, and he was born with a different mentality than ordinary people. He never showed up until he was twelve, and only a few people knew about him. A cousin was disfigured by him, and countless others were injured. Now, the old man in the family thinks that his family's future is all on the monster. He thinks that no one will ever hold him accountable for his actions, and no one can accuse him of being an enemy to the family. He has only knowledge and no emotional intelligence, he says, so he has nothing to learn from the world. There's jealousy in the girl's words, she says, because the family and the monster are family friends, and they both know each other. She asks the girl if she knows about the killing wolf, and if she has heard of it.
