The next morning, the two young lovers wake up in the middle of the night, and the narrator tells the story of how the two of them fell in love. The narrator tells us that he was sleeping on the roof of the mountain when he fell asleep, and that he woke up to find that he and the girl were in danger. He tells the girl that he saved her when she was in danger, but that she was a coward when she ran away. He asks her to forgive him if she can accept him. The girl confesses that she loves him, and she begs the boy to come on stage and give her a flower. The boy is so moved by the girl's beauty that he begs her to come down on stage with him.
