About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a soliloquy in which the protagonist complains that he is about to lose his "sex" . He is worried that his "cup of tea" , the butterfly sisters, is beginning to lose its power. He wants them to go upstairs and check out the butterfly house, but they refuse. He tells them to come back later in the day to check it out. He asks huiyin and ken to come with him. He says that they should help him find out if there is anything wrong with the house, so that they won't be exposed later on. The sisters agree that it is time for them to witness the "miracle" of the house. The protagonist says that if they let the man go out, he may have many flaws. He compares the apple to a dog collar, and says that everyone should wear it. He then says that there is an event coming up tomorrow, and they need to prepare for it. They have agreed to attend, and if they are absent, they will breach the agreement.
