He tells her that his first master was a ceramic merchant from the Song Dynasty, who was killed in a witch hunt. He explains that he escaped to the port, where he was smuggled back to his hometown. He says that his only way of survival was to seek power, which gave him a second tail, spiritual qi, and longevity. He survived for over 800 years, but the drawback of this was the repeating separation.
