In this chapter, Cai Ming and Cai Ming's younger brother, Mr. Gong, enter. Cai Ming tells Cai Ming that he is a foul tempered geezer and that the spiritual king still allows Cai Ming to work part-time in the realm of the spirit. He says that Cai Ming has been allowed to leave the hall at will for ten years and that he will not be able to enter the hall again because of the heavy moisture in the hall. He asks Cai Ming if hell is a place where people avoid, but Cai Ming says that hell is like returning home to his own house. He also says that he has never treated Cai Ming like his own son, and that today Cai Ming is treating him like his son. He adds that he does not like to help Cai Ming for free, but that he must give him something in return for Cai Ming. He then asks him to write all his life information on a blank page in the Book of Life and Death so that he can identify Cai Ming as his younger brother.
