In this chapter, we learn that the light bug cannot escape, and that the intruders will not keep their promise to protect the girl. In order to protect her sister, the girl must be with the intruders in exchange for her life. She begs the two of them to come to her rescue, but they refuse. They must leave, she says, otherwise she will die here. She tells them that she is healing up, and they must hurry to get out of the house. The intruders insist on coming with her, and she is shocked that they did not come with her brother . They are here, she tells them. She says that she will kill them all if they do not leave. She calls them "invincible aliens" and says that they will be zapped with an electric field. She also tells them to capture the bug and kill the intruders. They respond by activating the electric field, but she says that her electric field is useless now. She warns them that if they continue to attack, she will face the "cruelest death"
