In this chapter, we learn that the prince has started a full-scale hunt for the light bug on the green planet. The inhabitants of the planet have been displaced by the hunt, and more and more homes have been destroyed. The prince wants to cooperate with the authorities in order to find the bug and bring it back to his brother. He tells the duo that they should stay, since they were caught by the prince's brother, and they are now traitors to the green world. He says that he heard from the prince that many men have the power to others, and that he will think of a solution to the problem. He asks the duo not to leave him alone again, since he will die instantly if he confronts the men. He reminds them that his father is gone, his mom has gone to work, and his big sister has gone off to school. He begs the duo to help him take care of his sister, who risked her life to see him again.
