About This Chapter
In the forest, the black knight, pellegarde, tries to warn the white knight, Percival, not to leave the forest to pursue him. The white knight says that he is not in the forest for glory, but to protect the prophecies of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. He tells the young woman, who is crying, that he will join her one moment. She asks him not to say anything so sad, for she knows how unattractive she is. He says that she is more beautiful than a woman of six feet tall, and that she should join him because she is too lovely for him. He asks her to join him, and she agrees. She says that if she were to be jilted by another man, she would not be strong enough to fly into another mans arms. She then asks him to jolt her will, and he does so.
