About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph is from a famous poem by Edgar Allan Poe, entitled "The Ballad of the Seven Deadly Sins" . In this poem, the seven deadly sins of the apocalypse are symbolized by the coffin of "eternal darkness" , which is a symbol of the demon clan. The coffin is symbolic of the seven sins of sin, and it was made by the god of the underworld to seal off the demon family from the world. In order to seal the coffin, the goddess clan had to sacrifice herself to seal it off. This is why the coffin is so symbolic. In fact, it's the only thing in the world that represents sin. The only thing that is symbolic is the coffin's last piece, which was made to represent the "fairies, giants, goddesses, a dragon-sized chaos, and humanity." This is the last piece of the coffin that the four knights of apocalypse have asked the innkeeper to find. The innkeeper has asked the holy knight for help in finding this last piece. The holy knight has told the innkeeper that he will hold a ritual to protect the town from disaster if they complete the coffin. He says that if they do, he will use the coffin to prophesize that the apocalypse is coming for them. He asks the innkeeper not to let him trick her into thinking that he is trying to steal the coffin from her. He tells her to forgive her daughter, who has been acting like a child, and to go back to the Inn while they search for the final piece. He also tells her that they need to destroy the coffin before the god can do anything to it. He promises to help them.
