This chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which we learn that gongsun was killed by a group of tunnel demons. The flashback shows that the tunnel demons were defeated by the group of human soldiers, and that the human soldiers were killed by the tunnel demon soldiers. The general is now in charge of the battle, and he tells the story of how he tricked the tunnel monsters into fleeing. He says that he usually deals with monsters, and this is how he managed to get them to leave.
