About This Chapter
"It's not just a fantasy," the narrator tells us, "it's now a plan." He's been working on this for a long time, he says, and now it's time for a final piece of the puzzle: a giant sculpture of light. The narrator wants to know if the guy he's talking to is "bad" or "not bad" , but he doesn't want to break the news to anyone. He wants to be sure that the guy they're talking to has "sense" . He also wants to make sure that they don't get into a fight, because he wants to "stop playing around" and find someone "with a future." The narrator is filled with the desire to "run away" from everyone and anything, and wants to find someone with "a future." He wants someone who will have him when he gets older, and he wants someone with a "future." But he can't figure out how to get there, because the guy isn't exactly what he thought he was looking for. He thinks that he and the guy are "selling out" because they've been together for so long, and the narrator wants "to kiss" the guy, but the guy won't let him kiss him.
