In this short scene, the audience is introduced to a young woman who has just received a message from her mother. The young woman, who is called "Yaeun," is shocked to learn that her mother has not responded to the message she received from her father. She is also shocked that she has not been given a chance to respond to her mother's questions. She asks her mother why she did not reply to her father's request for the phone. When she learns that the girl has passed out next to her, the young woman realizes that she cannot give the girl the phone, even if she wanted to. She tells her mother that she will have to go to the city of seoul to meet her new boyfriend, who will take four hours and forty-five minutes to reach her. She also learns that her boyfriend will be arriving in the city at the same time as she, and that the trip will be a round trip ticket. She wonders why her boyfriend is calling again, and wonders what the opportunity is for her. When the girl realizes that the man is drunk and lying in the street, she screams that she is "really an angel" and that he has no idea what an opportunity this is for him. The girl then asks the manager why he is so worried about her. The manager tells her that she should be grateful for the inconveniences of other people, and she responds that she would rather be grateful than be inconvenienced. She then tells the manager that she did want love, but now that she remembers so little about it, she wonders if she will ever be able to remember it. The woman then tells him that the manager tried to contact her the night before, and then ran away. She says that the gossip in the office is that the young man has cut his face
