The narrator is worried that his request will hurt Cai Ming's holiness, but he assures Cai Ming that he will do everything he can to help him. He tells her that he doesn't care if she gives up or not, as long as she lives a carefree life. The narrator says that his greatest wish is that she live a life of freedom, even if she forgets him. He promises to die for her.
