During the reign of the former emperor, there were factions in wan that caused internal strife and left the borders unguarded. This time, the emissary from fanyun has come to seize the northern regions. Lin zhenyu, the son of the general, tells Lin that he has come in peace to express his respect for the general on rare occasions that he sees him. Lin says that they are all there to make peace, and that they follow their majesty's orders. Lin tells him that he is loyal to him, and he asks the younger general to participate in the martial arts competition between the two families. Lin, however, is not loyal to the general. He first gave ill-considered praise to the General, and then falsely accused the General family of treachery. Lin is worried about the competition, and she tells her brother to get up and watch the fighting instead.
