The scene opens on a field with lots of fireflies, and jin asks if they're there to punish him for interfering with the destinies of the fireflies. jin says that he's disobeyed the will of heaven, but he still has one question: why doesn't he give him three more days to repent? jin tells de yueer that they'll act like the fireflies and try to change their destinies. He's worried that jin won't be able to keep up with the conversation, so he comes to get him. He asks how jin knew that their boat would sink, but jin can't understand why he didn't say something sooner. He says that his highness told him that the boat would be fine, as long as jin was with him, but that he was worried that they wouldn't have time to talk properly when they were together. He explains that he came to get jin so that he could explain something to him, and that's what he does. He leaves to take jin home.
