In the previous life, it is a sin for a person to defy the will of heaven. The master will hand him over to heaven and he will be subject to heaven's rules. He tells the story of how he changed the fates of mortals and how he fell in love with the master. He says that if they are destined to meet again in the next lifetime, they will see one another again. The immortal master asks where he is and she tells him that she is fine. He asks if she means the reincarnation of Biyao and she says that she will be better off if he stayed away from her. He then asks why he wants to kill them and she replies that she did not want to cut him off from her love. She had to drink the "water of forgetfulness" and forget her past in order to inherit his holiness. The heavenly court would not have the power to punish her, she says, because she was not willing to leave her love for the immortal master. She says that everything that she has suffered in her life is because of him. He pushes her out of his way.
