This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which a young man named Yulan tries to convince his father that he is the reincarnation of a dead man. Yulan's father tells him that his son is a reincarnation of the dead man, and that Yulan is the son of a man who was once a member of the northern sect of the Brotherhood of Magicians. The young man tells Yulan that he has come to tell him the truth about his father's past. He asks Yulan to tell his father the truth, but Yulan refuses to listen to him. He tells him to tell the truth to his father, and to tell Yulan the truth of his own life. He says that he will tell his son the truth when he is old enough to understand it
