In this chapter, Dr. Bledsoe and Dr. Manette discuss the recent outbreak of a new disease in Shanghai. They are concerned that they cannot cure the disease at once, since the two different strains of the same disease are responsible for the spread of the disease. They decide that they must quarantine the patients and treat them as if they were sick.
