The narrator tells us that he's going to college and that his mom almost killed him on the road. He tells his mom to pack up her things and get ready to go. He also tells her that his boyfriend is coming to check on her. The narrator says that he doesn't want anyone to see him at the university because he'll be a lower-class student. He says that the girl next to him looks just like her and that she's just a class "a" . He's not interested in the girl. He asks the narrator to come and help him carry her suitcase, but the narrator says he'd better not approach her first because she looks like an "enemy" to him. He then tells the narrator that he is the nephew of a vice-dean and that he wants to see his major. He wants to know if the girl has a phone number, but he can't tell the narrator even if he asks. He promises to be there for the girl if she needs him.
