The next morning, Ling tells her mother that he has gone to see the northern successor of the butterfly acupuncture school. The school has died out of existence for many years, and the only remaining practitioners are the master of tendon-padding and the southern master of the same skill. Ling plans to send her parents to the college so that Ling can go with her to the university. She also tells her that she has received a lot of gifts from shijing recently, and that she wants to fight with her son.
