Dr. Aofei tells the entire staff that the hospital needs to be locked up because the hospital is in the middle of an outbreak of the dreaded bubonic plague. He tells them that he's going to take a look at the patient and decide whether or not the hospital should be shut down. He also tells the staff that they can stay and observe the patient, but that they should contact security and lock the hospital up. He warns them that if the outbreak turns out to be an epidemic, the hospital's reputation will be ruined. He says he'll lend a hand in that case, but warns them not to worry about the consequences of the outbreak. He then apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the lockdown, and says that the families of the patients are upset that they're being locked up in the hospital. He apologizes again, but says that he can't force them to stay. He promises to assign everyone to their own isolation ward and give them two thousand dollars if they stay for a day. He's not expecting to pay for it, he says, and he doesn't think he'd have to stay at the morgue for that amount of money. He wants to go home.
