The scene opens with the director of a big-budget movie making a big speech about how he's not going to sign a movie deal with a company that doesn't even have a movie division. He's going to go out and find other companies to work for. The director is all, "Gee, I don't think I'm going to be able to get a movie contract with this company right now. I've already done all the hard work for you, and now you're going to tell me that I can't work for this company because of the bad publicity you've done for me." The director says he'll write a letter to the manager of the company and ask him to find another company. The man says he knows a company called "blue sky entertainment" that's a little smaller than "universe entertainment," but big enough for the director. He says he can recommend the company to the director, and the director agrees to go ahead and sign the movie deal. Furious, the director asks if he can take back the letter of recommendation, but the director refuses to do so, saying he needs to "cultivate new actresses" . Furious says he wants to "put quality before quantity" , but he'd rather have "unqualified trash" than "trash." Furious says it's the director's assistant, Lu hao, who's been secretly teaching him how to act, and he even invited the director for dinner. Furious is worried that Lu will leave him after he becomes the "movie queen," and he asks the director to take him to his home tonight. He also wants to tell his father about their relationship.
