This chapter opens with a conversation between a young woman and a young man. The young woman tells the young man that she has just seen a girl with "white hair" hanging out with a girl from class g. She tells him that the girl is just an ordinary looking girl and that she is interested in face-lifting. She asks the young men if they would like to lift her face. The men reply that they would, but the young woman says that she cannot make it to the activity because she has a cold. She also tells the men that she does not like how she looks. She says that her aunt told her that a "good heart" means more than "a good appearance" , but that humans are "very superficial" and will only be interested in a person's appearance after they have been attracted to it. She then asks the men why they do not wear make-up when they go to work. They reply that good looks are only a tool and not a result, but they need to accept their true selves and be with people who accept them.
