Three days before the opening of the play, Du Ming asks the audience to walk from one side of the stage to the other in order to create the illusion of the ship's movement. Du Ming tells the audience that he has forgotten all of the lines from the previous play and is looking forward to acting in the upcoming production with Lin. He tells us that a young man named zhuyingtai has decided to dress up as a girl and enter the school where he hopes to become a piano master one day. His mother, who is also an actress, has overheard the conversation between the two students, and she enchants the young man with the evil magic of poverty. The two students fall in love with each other, and they live happily ever after.
