In this short scene, Caixin and Cuixin discuss their upcoming trip to the countryside. They are planning to go for a walk together, but they are interrupted by the arrival of Cang-Cang, who has come to pick them up. He asks Caixin to take off his kneepads, which he has been wearing to protect his knee from injury, and to marry him to Caixin's daughter. Caixin, however, is not interested in the wedding proposal, as he has already made up his mind to marry the girl he loves.
