About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that hagusa and his sister are living happily ever after, and that their mother has passed away. Aww, that's kind of weird, right? It's not clear what happened to her, but it's clear that he's never stopped being her father-in-law. He's still the "blessed vessel" that he always was, even when he wasn't around anymore. He tells his sister to pick up her sword and get ready to fight. He says that if something happens to him, he wants her to still be with him, even if he doesn't make it back. He also tells her that if anything happens, he'd like her to stay with him even if it means that he has to go back to the city. He warns her that the enemy is going to kill her before she gets to the crafter, so she has to fight him or else she's going to die. She says that she needs to get some sleep, and then she tells her sister to clear her eyes of hatred. She's her real family, she says, and they have to fight the enemy now, or else they're going to have to die in the snow.
