In this chapter, we learn that Hayao's father, yukiné, is still alive. Hayao tells us that he's going to find his dad and make him remember all the things that happened to him. He's also going to make Hayao remember that he was the one who killed him, and then he'll be able to forget all about it. He wants Hayao to come after him, but Hayao doesn't want to listen to him, so he tells him to shut up. He tells Hayao that the gods don't allow people to have hopes, dreams, and wishes, and that he gave Hayao what he wanted. He also tells him that the first thing that a god feels is pity for the poor, because the gods have seen the lives of their poor and miser abled lives. The gods love the poor because their love is unfrightful, and they've been able to see their lives through the eyes of the poor. The only thing that makes Hayao happy is when he hears Hayao talking to his dad. He says that he wants to know why Hayao is looking at him like that. He remembers seeing Hayao in front of him when he was a child, and he remembers that he wanted someone with no evil in them. He wanted someone like Hayao who would raise the roof of the world and bring chaos to everyone's lives. He wishes Hayao could have seen that, too, because it's been a long time since he'd seen it.
