The chapter opens with Hiroyuki's parents, who have just returned from the reunion. Hiroyuki tells his mother that he's glad they're back in town because they'll be able to spend more time together. He's also worried about his father, who's been hanging out with Kuku ofebisu, the girl Hiroyuki has fallen in love with. He tells his mom that Kuku is his "follower" , and he'll make him pay for it. He also tells Hiroyuki to knock on Kuku's door and apologize for sleeping with her. He says that it's time for him to say something, but Kuku reminds him that it was Hiroyuki who made him his father. He asks if he wants to sleep with her, and she says that she's his "girl friend" . He wants to know what's going on, but she doesn't know what to say. He thinks Kuku looks like a "low-class" man, but he'd like to know why she'd want to have sex with him. He wonders if Kuku will be a bad influence on Hiroyuki, but Hiroyuki says that he doesn''t think so.
