About This Chapter
In the middle of a divine council, Bishamon asks the servant to tell him where his father is. The servant tells him that his father has gone to the city of yomi, where he thinks that the divine council will take place. He wonders if Bishamons presence will be a sign that the council is about to take place, and he wonders if his father will be there. He also wonders if there will be any kind of exchange of ideas between the gods, as there have been in the past. He says that no god of faith has been able to end the quarreling, and that there has been no such thing as an invitation from foreign gods. He compares this to what happened in the political purge of the heavens, in which the gods were stung by their own shinks and died. He thinks that it is not right for the gods to be like this, since they have all got their own dispositions, and their shinks either allay or grow em . He wants a cull of iwami san, and says that he wants to be sealed away in the same way as the gods have been sealed away. He adds that the only result of the council will be conflict from poverty. He curses his servant, saying that he is the barbarians who attacked the village.
