About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the gods have been accused of treason against the gods, and that they are determined to bring about the downfall of Bishamon. The gods, the gods say, have the power to speak for themselves, and they are not here to throw the gods into chaos. They are here to help build peace in the world, and the gods are trying to stop them. Takemika, the crafter, is still alive, and he wants to kill him. They have to move forward, they say, because the gods will speak for them. They do not want to throw them into chaos, but they do want to build peace. They say that they do not think less of the gods than they would throw a monkey into the fire. They know that the monkey is going to be born soon, and it is their duty to protect it, even if the gods do not know about it. They will not be able to keep their children safe, because a god is a mother, and a father is not a father. They wonder if they owe each other for everything they have done for each other.
