The next morning, Tsuguha tells Hiyori that her family is going to court and that her father's medical license may be revoked. He also tells her that she should not worry about what's happened to her because she'll grow up to be a good person and not a bad person. He tells her not to worry about her birthday because he's heard him talk about it, and he doesn't think it's a good idea for her to be sad about it. He's also worried about her name being cracked. He wants her to stop worrying about herself and to stop keeping her troubles to herself. He asks her to tell him everything, and she says she's not perfect either, but she wants to be with him. She wants to know who these people are and what they're up to. She says she wants her father to release Tulkinghorn, but he can't do that. She asks him to think of gods for the people and not for himself.
