In this chapter, we are introduced to the young servant, Noragami, who has just returned from the battle. He tells us that his master is looking a lot like him, and that his senior shinki has been keeping him under control. He says that he has managed to fend off his master's wrath, and now he is a "Thunder dragon" . He is worried that the battle is about to happen, and he begs his master not to do anything to harm him. He also says that if his master commits a great sin, he would do everything in his power to stop him, even kill him. But he says that it is not proper for a god to be his personal property, and so he does not disrespect his master by becoming a god's servant. He adds that he would even kill his master if he were to commit such a sin. He then says that the word "rest" has been used to refer to the fact that a god has been replaced by another god, and thus has lost all of his possessions, including his "blessed vessel." He then tells his master that he will defend him from anyone who tries to take his place.
