About This Chapter
In this chapter, Kofuku is worried about his son, who has been missing for some time. He tells the boy that he has to go back to his father's house as far away as he can go to find him. He also tells him that if he goes to the shrine, he might be killed by the shrine's master. He says that he will look for a new job with another god. He asks the boy why he should not give up his quest to find his father. The boy replies that he does not want to be like his father, who made them food and taught them how to eat. He adds that his father was the only person he could think of who would help him in his quest. He then says that nana is dead, and that he would rather kill the boy than make him a stray about her. He goes on to say that if the boy does not believe him, he should try to tell his father how he feels. If the boy is not convinced, then he should tell him that he is dead. This will ensure that the boy will no longer be gone.
