About This Chapter
In this short scene, Shmoop compares the appearance of the villain in his disguise to that of a villain. He wonders what the two of them need to do to "stop keeping everything to their selves" . He also wonders why they're all there to help each other. He tells us that they've been at the divine council for three days, but that they haven't come back yet. He says that he brought the story to school, and that he hopes they'll come back soon. He compares the scene to a year ago, when he met everyone, and wonders if the name "yukine" answers the "vine" that waits for him in the sky. He then compares the heavens to a train, and says that the world has changed since he was sealed away. The heavens merely give, he says, and humans can't do anything with it. He adds that he's growing fond of Mina, but he doesn't want to give her a name, so he'll let her die alone. He'll give the heavens the "head" and "a place to die" to bring the "man" known as the "crafter" into the open, and kill him. He concludes by saying that he has lived a long life, and life is dull if you don't have a way to have fun. The world is full of "little children" who are "like little children who cry and cling" to their parents
