About This Chapter
In the morning, James tells the story of their first night together. He asks why they would celebrate their first day of being together, since it's a "19th century person" and a "20thcentury person" . He says that he's the one who "touched and seduced you" , and he'll "take full responsibility" for what happened. He tells us that he doesn't think the time is right for them to discuss their relationship, since no one will know that they're together, and that they need to "get things straight" first. He adds that he once heard that Henry's father, who was 80, was the same as Henry, but that he must have had a "lot of stamina" to be able to handle such a young man. James says that, if he had to do it over again, he'd do it right away. He'd write an "erotic novel" during the semester and study it for it. He wants to make Henry tell him what he likes, and how he likes it, in detail.
