About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he likes to splash water on Henry's clothes when he's doing laundry. He's not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but he says he likes it when Henry rolls his pants up and puts on his shoes. He asks if he can move out of the water's way so that he can see Henry. The narrator says he'll let him do that. He says he hasn't been staring at him for 10 minutes, but then he realizes that he has to get water from a hole in a garden hose. He doesn't realize that it's there because Henry has a shirt that's unbuttoned. He wants to know why he can't just stop staring at his chest. He thinks that maybe he has all these feelings for Henry now that he unbuttons his shirt, but maybe he was sleeping at the time, and maybe he had all of these feelings at that time, but now he thinks about it all the time. He feels like his heart is beating too fast, and he wants to stop thinking about his feelings. He tells us he said something to the effect of "please stop doing that" , and then he pulls himself together and says he was afraid he might get a cold, so he'd bring the water.
