About This Chapter
In this chapter, James explains to Henry that he is responsible for the events of the previous chapter because Sarah Gillis and Charlie Sly got married at the ripe old age of 16. He explains that he discovered a sweet juice that was delicious, and when he tasted it, he was filled with a sense of wonder. He asks Henry why he should try the juice, and Henry tells him that it is tasty. He then asks him why he is bothering Sly all the time, and he replies that he does not do anything to Sly. He tells Henry that Sly has a sweet tooth, and that the juice is not alcohol, but just some juice. He says that Sly is not as light or as air as he is, but that he loves the smell of the juice and the way it tickles his ears. He also says that he hopes that he will find someone he loves and get married. He recalls that his father was rich, and his father rarely talked about himself. He wonders if his father is a good person, because he is Henry's father. James says that even though he did not have a private tutor when he was 13 years old, he had a dream that he would sleep with the tutor. When he was 16, he finally got to sleep with his dream.
