In this chapter, Henry reflects on his time in the mental hospital. He wonders what has happened to his friend, and wonders if he has been locked up like him. Henry's mother, however, is the one who has planned everything, and she has arranged for Henry to be sent to the hospital so that he can be reunited with his father. Henry tells his mother that he wishes he were dead before he was 19, so that all his wealth and fortune would be donated to charity. Henry admits that he is still in love with his mother, and he wishes that he could live a long and happy life.
