The next morning, the Governess wakes up in the middle of the night. She's so upset that she doesn't know what to say to her husband. She tells him she's glad he's safe and that she'll make him a family. The Governess tells him he'll have a family of his own, and she promises to make him one that loves him. She also tells him that they've confirmed that the baby survived the attack and that the doctor told her that she lost consciousness. She explains that she had morning sickness, which is why she never took a pregnancy test. She says that if a woman thinks that she is pregnant, her body will produce a pregnancy hormone, which can be mistaken for a real pregnancy. If a woman is pregnant and then has a miscarriage, she must have really wanted to have a baby. She asks him if they should finish their business with Kiley. Kiley has called to say that his wife has been hit in the head by a bear, and he wants to know what's going on. He tells her to hold her heart prisoner, because people change their minds over time.
