The next morning, the Governess tells her mother-in-law that she's not going to see him. She's worried that he's going to tell his mom that he has a crush on another woman. The Governess says that she doesn't know what to make of the whole situation. She tells her mom that the chef and his wife have been fighting all morning, and that they're "the perfect husband and wife team" . She says that the two are "really stubborn" and that she wants them to start over. She also tells her that the singer got well and is doing well. She wonders what it's like to be in Japan's "number one soba" , and she wonders how it tastes. She adds that the soba tastes "just like the girl" you were with the other night, but that it isn't "the real misao" because the girl who's always thinking of you is the one who stays in touch with her mom. She wants to know why he hasn't told her the whole story. She asks if he needs the photo to stay in touch, and he says that he needs it to "stay peach in touch" with Kiley. She reminds him that if the photos had been made public, she would have changed her life forever. She admits that if she hadn't had the photo, she wouldn't have changed at all.
