In this chapter, we learn that Yukari has become so pretty that she's starting to worry about her appearance. She worries that if she lets her friend walk around alone, she'll look like a big girl instead of a girl who's just grown up. She also worries about letting a stranger into her home, since she doesn't want to let him in. She tells us that she has asked her brother to help her set up the garden, but that she hasn't heard from him yet. She's worried because she has called him a bunch of times, but he's not answering her calls. She asks him to be her friend, and he says he'll be there for her tomorrow. He tells her that she shouldn't have let a stranger in, since it's already too late. He also tells her to be careful about letting strangers into her house, since they're not supposed to be there. He says that his mom had to come in and ruin the whole thing, and that she should have just been her friend. He's sorry that he had to call him so suddenly back, and says that he hopes he won't be around for the extra class the next day. He asks her if she is in a "nervous wreck" mode today, and she says that she is. Then she tells him that she threw away all of her things because she didn't think it was a good idea to leave her friend alone with her. She says that it was kind of irresponsible to leave him with her, since he'd been waiting for her all day. She wonders if she still has feelings for him, but she can't figure out what to do.
