The next day, the school committee is going to do a garden improvement project, and the girls are worried about what will happen to them if they don't do it right. The girls worry that they'll get into trouble if they try to do it wrong, and they're worried that the boys will be jealous of them for being so good at it. They're also worried that they won't be able to finish the project on time, because the other members of the committee say they've been studying for a match and remedial lesson, so they'd be unable to finish it on time. When they finally get to the garden, however, they find that the girls aren't doing any of the work themselves, and that it's awkward for them to be alone together. They decide to go shopping, and when they come back, they realize that they haven't done all they needed to do. They feel bad because they love each other so much, but they also feel sorry because they havent done enough for each other. They realize that the garden is looking pretty clean now, and are worried that people will be ashamed of it.
