The minister tells him that the heavenly lord has wanted to kill him for a long time, but has been keeping him a low-profile demon king so that he doesn't attract too much attention. Now that he hasn't gotten back to the old demon king, he can send more people after him. He's worried that his wife will be wounded in the fight, and he needs to heal her before he can go back to her.
